How do I charge my OQO Model 01 battery when the battery is completely drained?

Step 1: Trickle Charge Battery:

  1. Plug UMPC (with battery) into power supply adaptor
  2. Allow to charge up to 72 hours (3 days), checking the fuel gauge once a day to check for charge status
  3. If the battery starts to charge normally, the fuel gauge lights will light up sequentially
  4. If the battery is able to fully charge, the fuel gauge lights will no longer light up, and when you check the fuel gage level, all 4 lights will light up
  5. If your battery fails to charge at all after 72 hours, it is no longer usable and you will need to purchase another one

My OQO with WWAN will not go into standby or hibernate when WWAN is active. Is this normal?

If you have a WWAN enabeled OQO, and you have an active WWAN connection, the unit will not go into any power-saving mode (standby, hibernate, etc). This is a Windows limitation and is by design, since windows sees any active, connected modem as activity and will not time out. In order for your OQO to enter into any power-saving mode, your WWAN connection must not be active.

This article applies to: All second generation OQO products, including the model e2

We have no plans to offer Windows Tablet on the 2+.

At this time, Windows Tablet is not supported on the 2+.  You are free to attempt to install it, but OQO Technical Support will not be able to help, nor will we provide anything other then Vista or XP drivers.

Why doesn’t the Model 2+ support a native screen resolution greater then 800×480 (native to the internal 5″ LCD & OLED displays)

800×480 is what the  5″ LCD and OLED screens that we are ready to go into final production with currently support (again, natively).

If we were to need to natively support something other then 800×480 (again, on our 5″ screen), we would have to source, engineer, QA, etc. the 2+ with a different screen.

The OQO model 2+ supports external displays up to 1920 x 1200 native resolution.
